Anyone who puts any stock into a well-groomed appearance knows these small, nasty troublemakers only all too well. We are talking about comedones, also popularly known as blackheads.

It’s sebum, an oily substance which often shows up in higher quantities on your nose and forehead. When it builds up, it turns solid and clogs your pores. Although dermatologists will tell you expressly not to pop or press them out with bare hands (because often residues and bacteria are pushed deeper into the skin and thus can cause abscesses to arise), many still resort to this method.

We’ll show you now a gentle, and above all, highly effective alternative to help you get the “blackhead” problem under control for once and for all.

You will need:

  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon water

Here’s how it works: First put the salt in a small bowl. Then add water… Add the lemon juice and stir everything together. Your anti-blackhead peel is all done!

Now massage the mixture with your finger tips gently into the affected area (and your forehead and nose). Make sure to use easy and light circular motions, then you’ll feel the pleasant peeling effect. After about 3 minutes rinse your face with warm water. Finished!

The principle of this treatment is the following: salt has a natural antibacterial effect and also helps to open up the pores and eliminate impurities. The natural acidity of the lemon combats germs in a gentle yet very effective way. Moreover, lemon has a bleaching effect on the skin, which helps to remove old and dead skin cells permanently. So every pore can breathe deeply again. Literally.

When you apply this exfoliating technique once or twice a week, your skin will clear up noticeably. And blackheads will be a thing of the past!
