L'Oreal is, without question, one of the most famous cosmetic companies in the world. But the French-based group has been on PETA’s shame list that conduct animal testing for years now. While the company is committed to providing quality products to its clients, this quality comes with tremendous suffering on behalf of the animals.

If you take a look at their website, here is what they say about animal testing: The Group no longer tests on animal, anywhere in the world, and does not delegate this task to others. An exception could be made if regulatory authorities required it for safety or regulatory purposes.

China does require each cosmetic company to test their products on animals; this is the only way companies are able to gain access to the Chinese market. Since L'Oreal has chosen enter this market, it automatically has agreed to test on animals!

While L'Oreal has agreed to conduct the cruel tests imposed by the Chinese authorities, other cosmetic companies have opted not to sell their products in China over animal testing concerns. It definitely seems that L’Oreal has no problem placing profits over animal welfare concerns.

The company has benefited from celebrity endorsements such as Andy McDowell, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively and Beyoncé throughout the years and has been deceiving everyone for such a long period of time.

Take action now and urge L’Oreal to come clean and ditch useless and archaic animal testings as soon as possible. L’Oreal will have far more to gain in the public’s eyes if it stands up against the Chinese government and pursue authorities in Beijing to end the obligativity of conducting animal testing for all beauty products sold in the country. This should be the right course of action, without doubt. Unfortunately, L’Oreal is doing exacty the opposite and is giving in to the conditions imposed just to get a slice of the Chinese consumer market.

Please sign the petition and urge L’Oreal to do the right thing and stop testing their products on animals. We, the undersigned, hereto pledge never to buy L’Oreal products again until our demands have been fulfilled.

Several brands belonging to L'Oreal group (including Biotherm, Garnier and Cacharel) have been included on PETA's list of companies that do test on animals. See the list of all the brands worldwide that still perform animal testing here.
